Wednesday Jan 1 @ 11:23pm… everyone on BBC is… UGLY? Well…
… Sorry, he was saying?
See, to me, BBC is just a giant cult of attractive people set out to make us feel bad. His argument is invalid.
and please, people, feel free to add more.
But… what do I do with my life now?! What should I watch now?? SO MANY RERUNS. I NEED NEW MATERIAL. I’ve watched a couple episodes of Supernatural and I’m not really sure that I’d enjoy it. I’ve heard Merlin is good, is Merlin good? I like good things. But is it AS good? Or is it CLOSE to as good?
… awkward Silence
River of tears
I’m simply Rorying with laughter.
Thursday Dec 12 @ 05:02amAs much as I believe Ten and Rose belong together, so do I believe Eleven and River belong together. As difficult as it is to believe, when The Doctor regenerates, he ultimately becomes a different man. Ten and Eleven are incredibly different, and though the memories are still fond, in the end, a different man will end up with a different woman.

She may be insane, but in an endearing way. Who wouldn’t be insane if you were raised the way she was? Lived the way she had? She is so strong and confident. She would do anything for love. I love her.

Not only is Alex one of the most alluring women on television but she is a fantastic actress.
To be perfectly honest, I love that River Song looks so much older than the Doctor. It is one of the reasons I am enjoying her so much. Curvaceous, mature, and not afraid or ashamed of her own body and sexuality: she is the epitome of natural beauty. For a television show to depict an older curvaceous woman in a relationship with the “younger” male hero lead is wonderful. How often do you see that and it’s not about her being a “cougar” who seduces him, often just for sex? The focus in Doctor Who is sci-fi action and adventure, not “cougar” love.
I like other shows which depict an older woman with a younger man but the primary focus is on the seduction/sex and/or they almost always end up with people their own age. I really don’t believe that’s always true in real life. Love is not about age, it’s about common interests, attraction, and time spent together. While that is often determined by generation, people from two different generations can have a lot in common and build a relationship from there.
Furthermore, I love that it’s not even about their ages anyway. The Doctor looks in his 20s but is actually 1103. And who the hell knows how old River is exactly; she could be anywhere from 60 to 600 at any given point in time.
The very nature of Time Lords reduces the importance of both physical beauty and physical age. The Doctor’s youngest form (First Doctor) looks the most advanced in age and his oldest form (Eleventh Doctor) looks the youngest in age. He has been short and dumpy; tall and suave; skinny and awkward; muscled and dangerous. The only constant is that the Doctor is always an amazing hero of high intelligence.
The very concept of Time Lords and their ability to regenerate could be seen a direct assault on ageism and stereotypical ideas of what society constitutes as physical beauty. The fact that so many miss this aspect of Doctor Who is saddening to me.
